Athens MLK Day Jr. Parade and Fest Registration

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools” Martin Luther King Jr.

Monday, January 15, 2018, United Group of Artists in collaboration with Athens Anti-Discrimination movement-non-profit partner will host the 2nd Annual Athens MLK Day Parade and  Music Fest. This event is designed to stimulate culture and diversity within Dowtown Athens, improve race relations, and encourage local residents to stand in solidarity to celebrate justice and equality for all. The  vision of Martin Luther King JR  “I Have A Dream.”

What to expect at Athens MLK Parade and Fest?

Honoree ceremony, guest speakers, live performances, food vendors, family activities and much more. 

The parade begins 3 pm, honoree ceremony and festivities will follow 4:00-6:00. Local citizens, business owners, community leaders, and non-profit organizations is welcomed to participate. 

Vendors: Please arrive no later than 2 pm for set-up (meet at Max Canada 243 Washington Street)

Vendors must provide their own table, tenting, and can not sell alcohol. (Food vendors must bring  container/trash bags for disposal items such as trash or food)

Parade participants must walk in a unified group.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Limited motorized vehicles allowed (must have prior approval)
  • Must have positive signage
  • No more than 25 people in a unit, no more than 10 in a row during the parade
  • No individual may walk in the parade must be in a group/organization
  • Entry Fee must be paid by January 5, 2018
